Introducing Charmaine Thomson, Education Lead (she/her)

Nō Te Whanganui-a-Tara ahau, no Tiamani ōku tūpuna, i whānau mai au kia Tapu-te-Ranga, i tupu ake au ki Aotearoa me Ahitereira, kei Hongoeka Bay ahau e noho, kei Education Lead e mahi ana, nō reira, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.       

I grew up in both Aotearoa and Australia, I was born in Island Bay, I currently stay on the hills above Ngāti Toa Rangatira marae in Hongoeka Bay Porirua. I am responsible for the quality assurance of the Level 4 Certificate in ECE and Care in my work and send warm greetings to you all. 

My Professional background is in ECE Teaching, initial teacher ECE education, vocational Education programme design, strategy, research and quality assurance policy.  When I am not at the National Service Centre four days a week I publish lyrical poetry building on from my  Masters in Creative Writing, do yoga, practice Baroque repertoire for voice and piano and hang out with my chosen family.
