We’re proud to share some exciting highlights from our Annual Report 2024 – a celebration of the incredible mahi, growth, and community spirit that centre whānau and staff help bring to life every day at Playcentre.
Thanks to your dedication, passion and aroha, we’ve achieved some fantastic milestones over the past year:
More tamariki, more connection
We saw a 1% increase in overall enrolments, including a 6% rise in infants joining our infant programmes. Our mixed-age and infant sessions are all about supporting tamariki and their parents in those precious early years – something you all help make possible through your care, presence, and commitment.
Empowering parents through education
Our adult education programme delivered 1,177 workshops to 11,752 participants – up 19% and 10% from last year. Even more inspiring, there was an 89% increase in whānau achieving the NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4). This growth reflects the commitment you bring as parents to supporting the learning and development of your tamariki.
As Janette, one of our parents, shared:
“The support while you are at Playcentre is amazing. After all, it takes a village to raise a child. The adult education has been amazing, helping us as kaiako (educators) nurture, support and build up our tamariki into amazing human beings ready to take on the world.”
Your mahi makes a real difference, and we are deeply grateful for everything our centre whānau and staff do to foster a culture of nurturing, learning, and community in our centres.
Call for Candidate Applications for 2025 Trustee Board Elections
Last Monday, 9 June, applications for candidates 2025 Trustee Elections opened. These are Board positions which have become available due to rotation.
