About the role:

As a Casual Programme Facilitator, you’ll support the delivery of our Space and Babies Can Play sessions. Working alongside a lead facilitator, you’ll help create engaging, nurturing experiences for whānau and pēpi while assisting with the smooth running of each session, including any associated admin.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Supporting the lead facilitator during Space and Babies Can Play session
  • Helping deliver discussions, music and movement, play, crafts, and kai time
  • Building relationships with whānau and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment
  • Assisting with session admin and provide casual relief as needed

Position details:

  • Casual role, if and when required
  • Start as soon as possible upon appointment
  • Work across Playcentres in the Canterbury region

About you:

You’re someone who is reliable, works well with others, and feels confident supporting whānau in a group setting. This role offers a chance to build your experience, develop new skills, and make a positive impact in families’ parenting journeys. You will also demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to engage confidently and build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Relevant ECE or primary teaching qualifications (Playcentre Course 3/Level 4+, ECE degree/diploma, or Primary Teaching)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a personable and cooperative style.
  • Strong organisational capabilities, including time management, meeting deadlines, multitasking, and balancing detail with overall objectives.
  • A motivated, results-focused attitude that supports positive outcomes.
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
