It was a fun-filled, festive and stellar day as families from Howick, Pakuranga Rahihi, and Cockle Bay Playcentres joined forces to represent the Playcentre Aotearoa at this year’s Ho Ho Howick Santa Parade.
Our chosen theme for this iconic annual event is galaxy, with members young and old adorned in some pretty creative, colourful and ‘out of this world’ costumes as we blasted off and trailed in the wake of the star of our show- our galaxy themed float which won 2nd place in this year’s Best Float!
Much thanks and appreciation to all the members across all three playcentres who were involved and supported us in the making of this rocking masterpiece!
Despite the heat and humidity (coupled with the fear of an anticipated thunderstorm), members were busy mingling and flaunting their costumes all the while drinking in the festive and colourful atmosphere.
Our faces were beaming and laughter was booming as we marched with pride along the main street of Howick, greeting and waving at the hordes of people who came to celebrate this merry and auspicious event.
Needless to say, it was an experience at this year’s Howick Santa Parade that had our tamariki singing and dancing amongst the stars.
