Xero updates

We are tidying a few things up in Xero at the moment.  We’ve noticed that there are a lot of old User log-ins, which are probably ex-members, or at least ex-Treasurers.  We will be looking at each Centre’s Users and deleting those which haven’t been used in the last 6 months.  If there are old User log-ins you want kept (or some which have been used more recently that can be deleted) let us know using [email protected]

We also have a policy of only using named email accounts as Xero log-ins (e.g. we don’t accept Treasurer.Ourplaycentre@ type emails).  This is so it is clear who is creating transactions in Xero, and it means that you can have a clean hand-over when you finish your Treasurer role – just let us know and we’ll set up a new User log-in for your successor.  We know there are some log-ins that don’t currently comply, so we will be working with Centres to phase these out.

Xero are phasing in mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).  This is where you use another authentication method (e.g. a confirmation sent to your phone) as well as a password when you log into Xero.  Here is a link to an article on how to do this.  Please ensure all your Xero users set up MFA.

A change to the description you get on your fortnightly payroll invoices

We have made a change to the description you get on your fortnightly payroll invoices.  Instead of the staff member’s full name, only the first 4 letters of their last name are now showing on the invoice.  This balances the need to identify the costs being charged with our obligation to limit access to payroll information.  We know you need to have sufficient information to properly review these costs so please let us know if you aren’t getting enough detail and we will work on a solution.
