Thinking today of all our Auckland whānau whose Playcentres are closed for the next two weeks under Alert Level 3Please remember that our Virtual Village remains on the website with a range  of play resources as well as a number of other helpful ideas.

In its most recent Early Learning Bulletin, the Ministry of Education covers a comprehensive range of information including how to manage the impact of reduced attendance rates at Alert Level 3 and 2.  To help manage this, the Ministry has announced that from 12 August until the end of the current funding period (30 September 2020), all permanently enrolled children are able to access the EC12 Exemption to the Absence Rules (both Continuous Absence and Frequent Absence). This will allow funding to continue for enrolled, but absent, children up to the end of this period.

This is the same process as was applied during the previous funding period.

Playcentres may access 10 discretionary situations between June and September 2020. This is an increase from the usual five per funding period, for situations where you cannot meet the qualification requirements to run a funded session.

The Bulletin also contains key information of what measures should be taken under Alert Level 2, to meet public health requirements.
