Becoming a branch

Thank you to centre whānau for the phenomenal effort you have all put into coming together as a centre, as part of the wider Playcentre whānau and as kaitiaki of Playcentre. Your mahi will ensure Playcentre is here for future generations, our mokopuna, and the mokopuna of our tamariki.

Over 330 centres (83%) have confirmed that they will be coming across as a branch of Playcentre Aotearoa, with a further 13% making great progress.  The team at Playcentre Aotearoa will be able to support those who are still navigating the process this term.

We appreciate that this process has been hard work, requiring extra effort from you all, with several centres navigating Education Review Office (ERO) preparation/visits as well. Thank you for the time taken to understand, the questions, the attendance at zoom hui, and the commitment to Whānau Tupu Ngātahi.

Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi. With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.

Tino pai rawa atu. Ngā mihi nui!

Introduction of the Kaimahi

With the successful induction of 33 Kaimahi in early April, we look forward to hearing about the wonderful mihi whakatau that will welcome Kaimahi to the centres they support in Term 2.

Confirmation of centres as branches allows for a streamlined recruitment process, with a plan to introduce Kaimahi to centres at both the start and middle of each term. Centres will receive an email to confirm when we have a Kaimahi for their centre.

Your new Kaimahi will focus on whanaungatanga (relationships) to begin with, and work with the centre to plan handover of roles and the introduction of support in a way that works for centre whānau.

The next month will see an update of information on the website, and we look forward to sharing these updates with you all along the way.

Again, thank you for climbing aboard the waka as we travel ki te pae tawhiti, to distant horizons, where centre whānau can focus on their children’s learning, strengthening their centre community, and adult education.

He waka eke noa.  We are all in this together.
