On Sunday the 31st of March 2019, Mount Albert Playcentre warmly welcomed many whānau past and present to the Golden Jubilee.

We celebrated our different yet shared memories. We acknowledged how over the years, we have played, laughed and had so much fun, gained skills from opportunities we would not have otherwise come across, discussed everything imaginable at meetings, supported each other, grown into better parents together and made friendships and memories for ourselves and our tamariki that last a lifetime. It was so wonderful to see so many families coming together to celebrate the last fifty years.

We also adopted our life members officially to our centre and honoured the mana they bring now and into the future. We had archive photos on display spanning the last fifty years. We also collected thumb prints of those present for an artwork which will be displayed at centre permanently. Mostly, we reconnected with each other over a delicious afternoon tea, cake and Mr Whippy truck.
