Onepoto Playcentre nurtures confident, competent learners by embracing the power of child-led play and exploration.
Our tamariki are free to discover, create, and imagine in a rich play environment. Whether it’s sand, messy, or water play, painting, jumping, swinging, carpentry, dress-ups, or cooking, children will have the opportunity to explore through hands-on experiences. Adults actively support their learning through conversations, participation, and providing engaging resources. Together, we have fun and build strong, lasting relationships.
We celebrate the diverse languages, cultures, and talents of our whānau, and believe that learning is a shared journey. Parents and caregivers take part in a free education programme that helps to create a learning environment where our tamariki can play to thrive, build social skills, and develop a strong sense of belonging. We also work together to make decisions and share the responsibilities of running our centre.
Our donations are currently $55 per term per family.
We’d love to welcome you! Contact us today to book a visit, meet our friendly village, and experience Playcentre in action!
At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.
Whether you have a new pēpī, preschooler, or are new to a community, Playcentre provides a place for whānau and communities to come together.
If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.
Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.
We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
We offer three visits before you enrol. Arrange a visit today and experience our supportive, fun and friendly community for yourself!
