Adult Learning at Playcentre

Playcentre has a rich history of adult education from its earliest days. Early Playcentre leaders championed Playcentre parents and whānau as the first and best educators of children and created formal and informal opportunities for adults to gain new skills, knowledge and the confidence.

Playcentre Education offers a unique opportunity for parents, grandparents, and caregivers to gain a nationally recognised NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4). The hands-on, flexible programme is designed to fit around busy family lives and is delivered through a mix of face-to-face workshops, webinars, and online modules.

The Professional Learning & Development (PLD) Team offers a variety of learning and development opportunities for adults involved in Playcentre – both centre whānau and staff. PLD courses are normally short courses designed to foster your own professional and personal growth as part of your ongoing learning journey as kaiako.
