Playcentre whānau team roles

Playcentres are whānau-led community hubs, and parents, grandparents and caregivers play an important role in providing amazing learning opportunities for children’s and adult learning. In 2025, Playcentres have shifted away from traditional office holder roles (e.g. President, Secretary, Treasurer etc) to a Teams-based approach, with whānau contributing to three key areas.
We’re pleased to share that updated details about the whānau team roles are now live on the website. Take a look at the refreshed information and how each role supports your centre community.
Detailed information about each of the responsibilities of these teams is available via links on the website link below. Resources include short videos (between 7min – 22min), slides and additional resources you may find helpful in your team’s role.
