Galatea Playcentre is a rural centre.  We have a large outdoor area that can challenge all ages.  With swings, large sandpit, vegetable garden, orchard, playground, playhouse, bikes and sports equipment, hill an landscaped garden areas, that children an whanau have free range in. Our centres building house’s the art, family play, blocks, music, puzzles, library, kitchen for cooking, carpentry we have everything at your childs finger tips so as to feed and grow there desire to ask why. Our centre has a relaxed feeling we support our tamariki to become confident, competent self-directed learners through play based around their interests. Our children gain knowledge through play, participation and positive guidance.

At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.

Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.

We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.
