Awakeri Playcentre

Awakeri Playcentre is a thriving centre with enthusiastic family members always ready to have lots of FUN. If you are interested then come and visit us during our sessions and we will greet you with friendly smiles.

Many of our children attend both playcentre and another early childhood setting. This way, they are getting the best of both worlds.

Playcentre isn’t just for the children – we have family events such as fireworks nights and weekends away and monthly fish and chip evenings. We also have events just for the adults – Christmas parties and dinners.

Come along and let our village be your village.

OPENING HOURS

Monday 9am-12.30 pm: All ages – 0-5 years 

Tuesday 9am-12.30 pm: All ages – 0-5 years

Tuesday 12.30-3pm: Playcentre Babes for children under 2 years  

Wednesday 9am – 1 pm: Kiwi Club and Independent drop off session for 2.5 – 5 year olds 

Thursday 9am -12.30 pm: All ages – 0 -5 years 

Friday 9am – 1 pm: All ages -0 -5 years

 
GENERAL SESSIONS
These are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9.00am to 12.30pm. Parents/caregivers stay with the children and all run the sessions together. Friday is run alongside the Kiwi Club session (see below). General sessions cater for families with children aged from birth to school age.
 
KIWI CLUB (Independent Sessions)
Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9.00am to 1.00pm. Friday’s session is run alongside a general session. Our Kiwi Club sessions are just for our older tamariki and are an opportunity for children to experience playcentre without a parent/caregiver present. They are supervised by a wonderful person who once was a playcentre mum. She gained her qualifications through playcentre and is now sharing what she learnt with the children of Awakeri Playcentre. Your child must attend a general session in order to be able to attend the independent sessions.
 
PLAYCENTRE BABES
A session especially for children under two years of age. A safe space for our littlest tamariki to explore what playcentre has to offer. These sessions are also a supportive space for mums (or other caregivers) to come and have a chat with others going through the same things as them.
