Dr. Hinurewa Poutu Webinar

All Playcentre whānau and staff are warmly invited to join us for a fascinating, interactive webinar to celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Dr. Hinurewa Poutu (Ngāti Rangi, Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi, Ngāti Maniapoto) leads Māori language and tikanga at Whakaata Māori (Māori Television). A linguist, educator, and PhD graduate in Māori language education, she leads the organisation’s reo and tikanga strategy, embedding te reo Māori as a daily, living language across all platforms. A former Māori Language Commissioner and champion of language planning, her experience is vast within Te Reo Māori teaching and learning.

This webinar will explore Māori language in the ECE environment and in particular the unique environment that Playcentre offers with parent led teaching. How do we utilise those learning moments for our pēpī to maximise their reo?
