Centre Whānau Survey Results

As many of you will know, I spend time in Centres to ensure that I stay very well connected to how things are going where it really matters – in each and every Centre around the motu. I am very aware though, that with 400 Centres around the country, much as I would like to visit every one on a regular basis it is just not possible. It is these two factors that drove the initiative for our new annual Centre whānau survey.

Previously there has been considerable opinion expressed about the views of Centre whānau without any corroborating evidence beyond the overwhelming support for the new Trust Deed in 2022.  The Centre Whānau Survey was designed to change to a more data driven decision making process. It was also designed to provide a baseline for future trend analysis.

I am delighted to share the first ever and encouraging Centre Whānau Survey Results with you.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all 905 respondents for completing the survey and sharing their views. Having this evidence enables us to plan more confidently from an evidence based approach and to enable us to hear the true voice of the organisation directly. We want to build on that so we can keep listening and responding.

To that end, when we run the next survey, I do encourage every Centre Whānau to respond. The true power of our organisation resides with current Centre Whānau who now determine our Trustees through the annual Trustee elections and this is now supported by the annual Centre Whānau survey so that each voice can be heard on the key issues.

Please participate in the upcoming Trustee Elections and the next Centre Whānau survey to make sure you have your full say in both the present and the future of our organisation.
