We’re seeking a vibrant, motivated, creative, and passionate educator to join our well-resourced centre to support our tamariki, parents and whānau in facilitating child led play.  
To work alongside our Centre whānau to open the sessions and guide activities, facilitate learning for our members and tamariki while role modelling child led play and positive guidance and support running our tamariki nui sessions. 
To support whānau in the use of Te Reo Māori, encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme to increase qualification levels at our centre and demonstrate the benefits of participating to whānau.  
Let your inner author shine writing learning stories highlighting tamariki achievements, developments, learning and wonders while supporting whānau with exploring their light bulb moments.  
We are all about mentoring and supporting parents/ whānau /members/tamariki as they explore and learn with their tamariki during these very special years.

Days & hours:

23 hours per week 5 days a week Monday 8.45am – 4.45pm Tuesday Wednesday and Friday 8.45am -12.15pm Thursday 8.45am – 1.45pm 23 hours p/w (during term time only)

Programme Facilitator – Papamoa Playcentre

The ideal candidate will need to have the following:

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher or Primary Teaching that has completed the Playcentre Primary Teacher Bridging Award or be prepared to complete the Bridging Award.     
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this.

Desirable skills and experience will include: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults.  
  • Passion for empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.  
  • Knowledge of ECE regulations
  • Ability to use technology
