Tēnā koutou te Whānau Tupu Ngātahi o Aotearoa,

As we come to the end of term three we have once again seen Aotearoa and the team of 5 million pulling together to eliminate Covid-19. While most of our whānau have been able to be back at Playcentre and life is returning to normal, our thoughts are with everyone in Tamaki Makaurau and Waikato. We know how hard this lockdown is and we thank you for your sacrifices which help keep everyone safe. With the coming of Spring and the burst of growth and new life that it brings, we also hope that Term 4 will see you able to safely reconnect with each other at your Centres.

Upcoming SGM and reconvened AGM

This term the Board have been meeting with a small group of representatives that are involved in the resolutions for the SGM to plan for the upcoming SGM (30th October) and reconvened AGM (31st October and 27th November). Information regarding the SGM and reconvened AGM was emailed to centres on 13th and 23rd September, and the SGM booklet can be found on the website, here:

Ngā Whare Hui

As previously announced, the 2021 ngā whare hui are postponed until April 2022. These hui have, in part, been deferred owing to the Rōpu request for a Special General Meeting. The Trustee Board originally considered holding the SGM on the Friday before ngā whare hui, as this was kanohi ki te kanohi. However, the resurgence of the pandemic and limitations on numbers allowed at gatherings, resulted in the venue being unable to cater for us. Additionally, the Board were concerned that the time restriction of a Friday Hui would not allow for full and robust discussions and some members would not be able to attend due to differing alert levels across the country and we wish to hear all whakaaro from our centres. Given these dates were already in our representatives diaries, the Trustee Board considered holding an online SGM and reconvened AGM. We wish to allow sufficient time for the SGM and reconvened AGM, hence providing the three dates already circulated:

SGM -Saturday 30th October (9:30am-4:30pm)

Reconvened AGM -Sunday 31st October (9:30am-4:30pm)

Reconvened AGM – Saturday 27th November (9:30am-4:30pm)

The Trustee Board wish to provide the opportunity for ngā whare hui to be held kanohi ki te kanohi, to help focus on building relationships and to have robust discussions unrestricted by time constraints. Therefore ngā whare hui 2021 is in April 2022 and ngā whare hui 2022 will be held in October/November 2022.
