Te Aroha Playcentre are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community for two sessions per week. You will work alongside our members and tamariki to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance, support the writing of learning stories and positively support the Playcentre education programme.

Hours:
2 sessions per week, 5 hours per week, Tuesday and Friday mornings. Term time only. This position is currently for a fixed term ending 15 December 2023.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification, or equivalent, or higher Early Childhood qualification;
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate; or be prepared to achieve this
Desirable skills and experience will include:
- A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience at Centre level with tamariki and adults;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and committment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
- Ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as Kaiako;
- Passion for supporting Te Reo Māori and tikanga and engaging all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our sessions.
