Huimai - Tauhei/Whitikahu

Huimai Playcentre provides a welcoming and inclusive community.  “It takes a village to raise a child” and we excel at this at Huimai.  We recognise that it is our people that are our greatest asset.  We respect our differences and gain strength from our common purpose to raise great kids.  It is a community full of support and fun.  It is through the contribution and commitment of our parents/caregivers that we are able to provide this wonderful establishment for our children.

There are 16 areas of play to engage, support and extend every Childs play and learning.  This includes an amazing bike track, musical instruments, sand pit, swings, books and art supplies to name a few. Children from birth to school age are able to play alongside one another which enhances their social development.  Our general sessions are open to all ages and run from 9.30-12.30 with our big kids session running on a Tuesday.  This is a drop off session for older kids, 3 and over.  It is limited to 10 children to foster strong relationships between our Tamariki.

We are a rurally based centre surrounded by open green pastures.  Located on the boundary of several areas, we are made up of families from Orini, Whitikahu, Te Hoe, Tauhei, Morrinsville and Gordonton.

The first three visits are free and we love to welcome new families to Huimai Playcentre.  Come and visit us during any of our general sessions.  Bring morning tea and a change of clothes for your child/ren and come join us for some fun, stimulating learning.

At Playcentre, early childhood education is a shared journey. We value parents as the first and best educators for their tamariki, which is why parents attend alongside their tamariki – to play, learn and grow together.

Whether you have a new pēpī, preschooler, or are new to a community, Playcentre provides a place for whānau and communities to come together.

If you care for tamariki aged 0-6, we invite you to visit and experience our affordable, unique, and child-led environment. Our centres encourage learning through free play and nurture imagination, confidence, and connection.

Our licensed early learning centres follow the Ministry of Education’s world-leading bicultural curriculum, Te Whāriki, offering 16 different areas of play set up to cater for different interests, skills, ages and abilities.

We also provide a free, NZQA-approved, adult education programme for enrolled whānau to add practical strategies and skills to your parenting toolbox.

We offer three visits before you enrol. Arrange a visit today and experience our supportive, fun and friendly community for yourself!
