Version 2

All learners should now be on version 2 modules.  The Playcentre Educator (PE) modules replace B-Series and Playcentre Leader (PL) replace C-Series.  The cut off date for v1 tasks was 30 June 2023.  For most ākonga, the transition to v2 is straightforward and in your favour.  If you wish to continue and do not yet have the updated tasks, please contact [email protected] for PE/B-series queries and [email protected] for PL/C-Series queries.

Feedback from version 2 participants is overwhelmingly positive.  We encourage you to give Playcentre Education a try to see what you think!  As of the end of July, our number of new learners exceeded our numbers for all of 2022.  Let’s keep the momentum rolling.  Karawhiua!

Webinars

Webinars offer the best combination of face-to-face and online learning.  Please remember that webinars are designed to be interactive and we expect participants to be engaged in kōrero discussion with their cameras on.  We also ask that you please avoid eating and drinking during karakia and whakawhanaungatanga as these processes are tapu sacred.  Mary Alford sends out basic information to participants prior to each webinar series – please take the time to read the info in advance.

Reducing Barriers

Playcentre Education is committed to reducing barriers to learning for our Playcentre Education ākonga and potential ākonga.  We appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete this Reducing Barriers in Playcentre Education Survey or joining the team for an informal online kōrero on Tues 15 August 1pm – 1:30pm.

Graduate Celebration Events

In September and October we will be celebrating Playcentre Education graduates around the country.  Dates and venues are currently being confirmed.  We’ll also run an online hui for those in isolated areas or who can’t make in-person events.  If you know someone who is nearing the end of the certificate, awhi them along so they can finish by September and be included in this year’s events.

Video Competition

Check out the Playcentre Education Video Competition currently underway.  We look forward to hearing your stories.
