New guidance has been developed to support early childhood services such as Playcentre in applying the information sharing provisions of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 in an education context.
These provisions allow for sharing information that would normally be considered private in situations where it is to protect tamariki and keep them safe.
The guidance on the Ministry website helps you consider whether to share information and how in situations where information may be requested from you, or where you may feel it is important to pass information on. These should be read in conjunction with our Child Protection Policy and procedures.
