Potential barriers to Fathers in Playcentre and solutions to enhance engagement

Ricky Sartorelli, Playcentre Dad and student at the Open Polytechnic invites three to five parents with tamariki currently enrolled in Playcentre throughout Aotearoa to complete his research semi-formal interview.

The purpose of the research is to understand the key challenges faced by fathers in actively participating in Playcentre sessions, and how can these challenges be addressed to enhance paternal involvement.

The interview will take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete, and all responses will be completely confidential.

Gender diversity in ECE

My name is Vicki Gifkins, and I am a Master of Education student at Massey University. I am also a past Playcentre parent having attended Park Road Playcentre in Palmerston North. As part of my thesis research, I am surveying ECE kaiako views of gender diversity.

I am keen to hear from as many kaiako as possible. The survey is open to all kaiako who regularly attend your Playcentre either with their tamariki or in a paid role e.g. session facilitators.  It will take approximately 15 minutes to complete the survey.
