We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Programme Facilitators to join our team in the Oamaru region. You will assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Space Programme and work with babies and their whānau, ensuring participants are supported to build relationships with each other. As a Programme Facilitator, you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly, play, in a safe environment.

We are looking for casual relievers who would be available to relieve at various Playcentres across the Oamaru area.

The idea candidate will:

  • Have completed Playcentre Level 3, 4, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.
  • Be prepared to facilitate across multiple centres.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • A passion for working with new babies alongside parents and caregivers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the value of Playcentre and its philosophy, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and using Te Reo on session; and how to apply Te Whāriki
  • Having great interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence speaking within a group
  • Having completed prior Space/ Babies Can Play training will be advantageous but is not necessary.
