We have positions available at various Playcentres within the central Auckland suburbs for both Session Facilitator and Programme Facilitator role.  You can do both roles or just one! 

Both roles require someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate, excited to join our team. We are all about mentoring and supporting parents/ whānau /members/tamariki as they explore and learn with their children during these very special years.    

As a Session Facilitator you will work alongside our centre whānau and tamariki to ensure sessions run smoothly, parents are supported in their role as Kaiako and children’s needs are catered for.  You will role model Playcentre philosophy and foster whānau-led culture.

As a Programme Facilitator you will deliver the Space programme, which supports parents and their babies connect with other new parents while exploring parenting, their children’s development and most importantly, play, in a safe environment.

Location:

Various Playcentres in Central Auckland such as; Herne Bay, Freeman’s Bay, Maungawhau, Epsom.

Days & hours:

There are 15-20 hours per week available for both Session Facilitator and Programme Facilitator roles combined. However, there would be less hours if only one role is applied for. The hours vary across the week between 3-7 hours each day with additional casual hours available as required.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have completed Playcentre Course 3, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher, or be currently enrolled in Playcentre C-Series, an equivalent ECE qualification, or higher.
  • Or hold a Primary Teaching qualification and have completed or be prepared to complete the Primary Teaching Bridging Award.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this.

Desirable skills and experience will include:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 
  • A passion for Playcentre and our philosophy. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults. 
  • An ability to support and empower parents, whānau and caregivers in their role as kaiako.
  • A willingness to upskill and meet new Playcentre qualification requirements as required; Confidence when speaking within a group.
  • A passion for supporting Te Reo Māori and tikanga and engaging all whānau to feel a sense of belonging on our session.
