Playcentre Aotearoa announced recently they have received a large donation from the Kelburn out of School Trust on behalf of several Playcentres in the Wellington region.

The funds will be distributed to several low-decile Playcentres in the Wellington region, along with Kelburn Playcentre.

“It’s great to have this exciting news to share, which will have such an impact for the centres covered by this donation,” said Playcentre Aotearoa Chief Executive David Moger.

“We are very grateful to the Trust for their generous and valuable support for our charitable work,” said Moger.

The Trust has wound up and generously donated funds to be used for capital purchases, such as upgrading outdoor areas, heating, fencing, and other property maintenance projects.

“We feel very honoured to have such incredible support from our local community,” said Kelburn Playcentre Co-President, Eleanor Kane.

“This donation will mean we can carry out property upgrades, including installing better heating, that will make a big difference to the learning environment for our tamariki,” said Kane.

Playcentre is a nationwide charity with over 400 centres throughout Aotearoa.

Playcentre caters for children from birth to school age and are licensed early childhood education services that are run cooperatively by parents and whānau.
