We are a vibrant Playcentre situated in the thriving and diverse Hamilton East community. A licensed Early Childhood Education provider, attending families work cooperatively to manage our centre. We run mixed age sessions open to children 0 to 6 years, helping to foster social skills which have lifelong benefits. We support our children to become confident, competent, curious and creative self-directed learners by engaging their interests through play. We provide a broad and adaptable range of opportunities for children to explore in a fun, safe learning environment.
Our beautiful outdoor area features many established trees and provides a wonderful landscape for learning opportunities. Our building has plenty of windows for natural light. We are a well-resourced and established centre with both new and retro equipment and play materials. The play opportunities that we provide include sand, water, messy play, physical play, carpentry, painting, collage, junk construction, family play, puzzles, books, blocks, clay, playdough, science and exploratory play and music. We place a special focus on Te reo and tikanga Māori while honouring the diverse backgrounds of our whānau.
Our parents participate in Playcentre’s NZQA accredited education programme and are actively involved in providing for our children’s learning and development. Parental relationships developed through Playcentre provide support for parents and help them to develop new parenting and life skills. Our high adult to child ratio allows a good balance for group and individual support during each session. The high level of supervision also enables us to provide wonderful learning opportunities such as community walks, cooking, gardening, and even toasting marshmallows around a fire in our sand pit!
There is no other organisation for early childhood education and family development quite like Playcentre in the world. Thousands of Kiwi children and their parents have grown up with it. Book today for your three free visits and come join in the fun.
