Tākaka

Tākaka Playcentre is about empowering and supporting adults (parents, caregivers) and children (ages 0 – 6) in our area to grow, learn and play together. With free education offered to adults (free NZAQ training) while tamariki learn through play.

We have 16 different areas of play to explore the areas include dough, science, painting, family play, carpentry and many more!!

We are a volunteer run centre who values that every family brings different qualities and experiences to our centre.  Adults contribute as little or as much as they can, from being in an officer’s role on the committee, helping with working bees or setting up different play for the tamariki on session.

Playcentre is a group of parents working together to support each other and their tamariki. 

Come along and PLAY!

SPACE is a service provided through Playcentre on a Wednesday. It allows parents to connect with other new parents and their babies (ages 0- 1).  A supportive environment is provided where parents can share their experience and meet life long friends for both their babies and themselves. For new parents it can be overwhelming and this is a great place to explore parenting and children’s development in a safe, facilitated environment.
