More flexibility for the Playcentre Introductory Award

From Term 3, Playcentre Education ākonga have more flexibility with their study options. All participants start with B401 Kia Tākaro | Let’s Play however now ākonga have the choice of completing any one of the other three B-modules to complete the Playcentre Introductory Award (PIA) for 10 credits. The Playcentre Educator Award will comprise the other two B modules for a total of 20 credits.

The change gives ākonga more choice in where they would like their study to head, as well as give a greater diversity of the skills PIA holders bring to Playcentre sessions.

Playcentre Education at your Playgroup

Did you know that if you are at a Playcentre Playgroup you can enrol in the Playcentre Education programme? That’s right, it might be that your Playgroup’s long-term plan is to return to a licensed early childhood centre; or as a parent you want to engage in education for your own learning or to better support your child’s learning and development. Whatever your reason you can still enrol in Playcentre Education.

If you have any queries about this please contact Louise Albert, Education Lead [email protected]
