Education Update – March 2022

C411 – Tutor observation visit

If you require your tutor observation to be done in the near future, please contact Haley Brown [email protected]. 

A good time is the term prior to you thinking of finishing the C-series.  This will help Haley to schedule your observation with a tutor.  There are some regions that are a little tricky to find tutors for, however by planning early we can alleviate this issue.  We encourage you to be pro-active and make contact, don’t wait for Haley to contact you.

Webinars

We are into our second term of offering webinars as an online learning option. 

This is different to the iQualify online learning, these occur over 4 x 2.5-hour sessions which are scheduled at a particular date and time.  While using iQualify you have access to the learning material for a period (for example 4 weeks with tutor support) during which you can work through the readings, videos, and exercises at your own pace at whatever time you choose.  Webinars are via the Teams (Office 365) platform, this is similar to Zoom.  You will have two tutors delivering the course and you can interact with tutors and fellow students. 

Enrolment for webinars

You can enrol onto a webinar through BookWhen.  You do not need to enrol onto iQualify as well, otherwise you are enrolling onto two delivery modes.  Please do not do this.  Choose your preferred method of delivery (iQualify, webinar or face-to-face) and enrol once onto your chosen module.

We are currently providing B401, B403 and B404 via webinars.  Within the next few weeks C408 (Communicating Effectively) will be up and running, this is currently being developed.  

Playcentre Education Support Sessions

Come join an online session to get support from a tutor! 

We have break out rooms set up so it’s also a chance to kōrero with other ākonga working on the same module as you.  Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons for one hour via Microsoft Teams. No need to register, just click the link to join the session via a web browser.
