Childhood Immunisations

The Ministry of Education have asked us to share the following information about childhood immunisations on the National Immunisation Schedule with you.

Protect tamariki for life. Immunise.
Immunisation saves lives. Getting your tamariki vaccinated is one of the best ways to set them up for a healthy future.

Vaccines on the National Immunisation Schedule are FREE for all tamariki under 18 in Aotearoa New Zealand.

When to immunise

The National Immunisation Schedule outlines the free vaccines offered to tamariki at certain times in their life. These are the immunisations recommended for your tamariki from 6 weeks to 13 years.

If your child has missed an immunisation, it’s okay. Tamariki can catch up on most vaccinations.

Pay parity for ECE teachers funding review – consultation underway

The Ministry of Education is currently consulting on a proposal to help implement pay parity for certificated teachers in education and care services (including hospital-based services and casual education and care services) with their counterparts in kindergartens.

As Playcentre Aotearoa is parent-led, we are not included in this directly. If you wish to attend any consultation hui as an individual, you are welcome to visit the Ministry of Education website for more information.
