During the first half of Term 3 the permanent members of the PLD Team (Liz Neill, Karen Moetu Thomas, Karina Hart, Rebecca Congalton and Kara Daly) have been finishing off programmes, preparing for programmes starting in Term 4, developing new play workshops for release, and supporting centres with one-off visits.

One of the best parts of Professional Development work is visiting a range of centres and members.  These include centres where members can attend Playcentre only when the tide is right; to supporting centres who have full rolls and are bursting at the seams.  To enable us to get to more parts of the country, we are looking for casual Professional Learning and Development Facilitators – to learn more, check out our advertisement PLD Vacancies | Playcentre.

From the 4th to 8th of September we are celebrating Adults Learner’s Week with a series of short online workshops.  Some of the topics include Ngā Atua Māori / Matariki Planning and Māui Dispositions for assessment, A Good Start in Life/Inclusive Practice and Strengthening Social Competency.  If you haven’t already, remember to register for them at Upcoming Programmes | Playcentre
