Strengthening Early Learning Opportunities (SELO) Update
It’s been a busy term for the PLD team with much of our time focused on our SELO Cluster centres and kicking off our SELO leadership programmes. Two new Leadership programmes have been developed including a Creativity Leadership programme and the Kōrero Pūrākau programme. The Kōrero Pūrākau programme has been delayed slightly and will now launch in Term 3.
For the SELO programmes allocated between July 2022 to June 30 2023 we have:
Bi-cultural officer PLD
Calling all Bi-cultural Officers! Please join Jean Yern – Regional Kaihononga Māori for Central North Island and PLD Facilitator – for an online 6-week PLD programme to help you promote Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within your centre leadership!
This PLD will guide you through strengthening your te reo me ona tikanga Māori in Playcentre. This PLD is a great way to learn alongside other kaiwhakaihuwaka from around Aotearoa to uphold that commitment.
DATE – Weekly Tuesdays starting 9th May 2023 – For 6 weeks
TIME – 12:00pm – 1:30pm

Grow your centre workshops
In a follow up to the Grow your centre campaign Kara Daly ran several workshops exploring how to facilitate sessions with a special focus, including Beyond the Morning, Tamariki Nui, Outdoor Playcentre Sessions and Independent Drop Off sessions.
