Minimising food-related choking risks first-aid contribution From 8 April 2021, centre-based services and kōhanga reo will be required to have one adult present that holds a current first-aid qualification (or suitable equivalent) for every 25 children attending. On 1 March 2021, the Ministry will be making a one-off payment to Playcentres to contribute to the initial cost of first-aid training. The amount each service will receive will be based on the maximum licence size of each service as set out in the table below.
*The payment amount is calculated based on the extra first aid qualified adults required by the amended criteria + one additional adult being provided first aid training. The one-off payment will come in the March Funding Subsidy payment round and Playcentre Aotearoa will pass the payment on once it is received. |
