Assistant Accountant – National Service Centre

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Accountant who is looking for an opportunity to gain broad experience in a well-loved community organisation.  This role will suit someone who wants to spread their wings and be part of the “big picture”.

The Assistant Accountant will be part of our small, friendly Finance team and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to be involved in, and exposed to, all financial aspects of Playcentre Aotearoa. You will have sole accountability for a variety of tasks and will be well supported by the Chief Financial Officer in the undertaking of other tasks and responsibilities.

Full training and mentoring will be provided, and the scope of your responsibilities will grow as you grow your capabilities. This is an excellent role for the development of your accounting career.

Programme Facilitator – Invercargill

As a Space Programme Facilitator you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents, while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly play. Space facilitator contracts are fixed term for the length of each programme. The programme runs for three terms and is 3.5 hours a week -starting from the week of the 18th October.

The Big Kids Session Facilitator is responsible for organising and facilitating session for older children. You will assist parents and caregivers on session to ensure sessions run smoothly, ensuring parents are supported in their role as Kaiako and children’s needs are catered for, that their play learning and development is enhanced, as well as role modelling Playcentre Philosophy and current practices.

You will help centre members understand the key components of excellent practice at Playcentre, and how each person can contribute to this. To foster a whanau-led culture and support emergent leadership, by helping centre members gain knowledge and understanding, and increase confidence in centre members to take on more and more of running sessions themselves.

The focus of the Grey Valley Playcentre Big Kids session is to facilitate a smooth transition to school for the tamariki by encouraging independence, self-management and self-confidence.
